First things first...

Hey friends--

Yes, I finally took the plunge to create a blog, despite all my vain proffessions that I never would... The main reason is that I miss all the homies from the US now that I'm over in Israel, so I wanted to have a way that you could see into my life at IBEX a little. The e-mail thing could probably get a little overwhelming when it's the only form of communication, so this blog serves as the general info of what's going on in my life so I don't have to keep repeating myself. That way the e-mail thing can be a bit more personal and all that. The best e-mail address to contact me through is nateboone@gmail.com.
I think the main reason I wanted to avoid "blogging" was because I know my own tendency to be fake when I'm aware of an audience, because it's rather easy to present a well-crafted facade when you can edit your words. I suppose, however, that the first step of this struggle is admitting it, so this blog is also an exercise in dealing with my own heart when I go beyond the "This is what I did today" blogs. All my english major friends (or english majors at heart) out there, don't laugh too hard at my feeble attempts in the deeper stuff... :)
That being said, I've GOT to share pics from what is becoming a really fun pasttime of mine when I'm home in No. Cal, CAVING! There's nothing like crawling through a bunch of dark, spiky, wet lava tubes with three other smelly guys. These are the highlights:
